Job Summary
Supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) remotely, the full-time Jr. Geospatial Analyst will acquire, organize, and maintain geospatial datasets while performing spatial analysis and data processing tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Acquire, organize, process, and maintain geospatial and operational datasets supporting DHS mission programs
- Perform routine geoprocessing, spatial analysis, and data quality assurance checks to ensure data accuracy and usability
- Create and maintain web maps and geospatial services, ensuring they meet user and mission requirements
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in GIS, geospatial analysis, or data management
- Foundational experience with ESRI technologies such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Understanding of spatial data concepts and experience with data formats like JSON and geospatial data
- Basic experience with Python, SQL, or other scripting/query languages for data processing
