Jr. Geospatial Analyst

Job Summary

Supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) remotely, the full-time Jr. Geospatial Analyst will acquire, organize, and maintain geospatial datasets while performing spatial analysis and data processing tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire, organize, process, and maintain geospatial and operational datasets supporting DHS mission programs
• Perform routine geoprocessing, spatial analysis, and data quality assurance checks to ensure data accuracy and usability
• Create and maintain web maps and geospatial services, ensuring they meet user and mission requirements

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in GIS, geospatial analysis, or data management
• Foundational experience with ESRI technologies such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
• Understanding of spatial data concepts and experience with data formats like JSON and geospatial data
• Basic experience with Python, SQL, or other scripting/query languages for data processing
