Jr. Mortgage Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Jr. Mortgage Underwriter.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite first and second mortgages in compliance with guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Perform preliminary reviews and support final underwriting reviews, ensuring data integrity of loan files
• Monitor the mortgage pipeline and facilitate communication with outside vendors to expedite the loan process

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred; experience may substitute for degree
• Minimum of two years of related experience in a credit union, bank, or financial institution
• Hands-on experience with Encompass within the last 12 months
• Knowledge of the mortgage process from origination to post-closing
• Detailed knowledge of secondary market guidelines and some regulatory knowledge
