Job Summary
Transforming technical AI governance material into accessible guidance, the full-time Junior Communications Specialist will manage communications for the Veterans Health Administration's National Artificial Intelligence Institute, running webinars, drafting reports, and ensuring clarity for clinicians and staff in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Produce and distribute regular communications, including email campaigns and newsletters, on AI inventory and risk management activities
- Plan and execute educational sessions for VHA staff, ensuring at least one session every two months
- Draft and edit presentations and reports summarizing AI inventory status and risk management resources for agency partners
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in communications or public relations, preferably with a focus on technical or health IT programs
- BA/BS in Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, English, or a related field
- Experience with public relations, information output, and media requests for various organizations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated Tier 1 / National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI) background investigation
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
