Junior Cyber Threat Hunter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Junior Cyber Threat Hunter to support a program with the IRS Cyber Security Incident Response Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and investigate security events and suspicious activity using various cybersecurity tools
• Establish normalized network traffic and data flow baselines to identify anomalies
• Develop and tune alerts, detection logic, and signatures to enhance incident response capabilities

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in cyber security, SOC, CIRT, or incident response environments
• Experience with SIEM tools, packet capture analysis, and Linux command line
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and operating systems
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Ability to obtain an IRS Public Trust clearance
