Junior Data Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting the development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines, the remote, contract-to-hire Junior Data Engineer will design and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Databricks, Python, and SQL while collaborating with senior engineers and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to support analytics and reporting initiatives
• Collaborate with senior engineers to build robust data workflows and monitor data quality
• Document data processes and participate in Agile ceremonies, including code reviews and sprint planning

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience in Data Engineering or ETL development
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and developing ETL/ELT pipelines
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and automation
• Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and modern data architecture concepts
