Junior Data Engineer
Job Summary
Joining the Data Platform Team, the full-time Junior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain data ingestion pipelines for healthcare claims data, develop transformation models in dbt, and contribute to fact and dimensional modeling, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Design and maintain data ingestion pipelines feeding the Snowflake warehouse from various healthcare data sources
- Develop transformation models in dbt, adhering to best practices for testing, documentation, and version control
- Collaborate with senior engineers and analysts to translate business requirements into technical data structures
Required qualifications
- Solid foundational knowledge of data engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT and SQL proficiency
- Working knowledge of dbt or readiness to quickly learn for transformation and modeling
- Understanding of fact and dimensional modeling principles, including star/snowflake schemas
- Familiarity with the concept of a semantic layer for consistent reporting
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision once requirements are clear
