Junior Designer
Job Summary
Supporting the Art Director(s), the full-time Junior Designer will manage and design multiple book covers, collaborating with various departments to ensure high production standards in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design and manage multiple front covers and mechanicals throughout the book cover creation process
- Collaborate closely with Art Director(s) on research, layouts, and presentations
- Prepare print-ready digital files while maintaining deadlines and responding to feedback
Required qualifications
- Strong layout and typography skills
- Proficiency with the MAC environment and Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
- Minimum of 6 months' prior design experience; publishing experience is a plus
- Knowledge of printing, prepress file/art management, and production is advantageous
- Hand lettering and illustration skills are a plus
