Job Summary
Supporting a federal agency's FOIA program, the full-time Junior FOIA Analyst will perform processing and administrative tasks to address a significant backlog of FOIA requests while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Receives, reviews, logs, and tracks incoming FOIA requests in agency case management systems
- Conducts searches for responsive records and reviews documents for completeness and accuracy
- Monitors statutory deadlines and independently tracks assigned cases to ensure timely processing
Required qualifications
- BA/BS degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience, or equivalent experience with a H.S. Diploma or Associate's Degree
- Expertise in FOIA processing and ability to analyze information according to FOIA guidelines
- Experience using automated tools and case management systems, such as Secure Release and FOIA Xpress
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities
- Self-starter with initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
