Junior Java Developer
Job Summary
Supporting a mission-focused enterprise modernization effort, the remote Junior Java Developer will develop, test, document, and support Java-based services and integration components while collaborating with senior developers and DevSecOps engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java services and application components in accordance with approved architecture and coding standards
- Create and consume RESTful APIs and service endpoints to facilitate secure data exchanges among various enterprise services
- Participate in Agile sprints, contributing to backlog refinement, coding, testing, and deployment activities
Required qualifications
- 1+ year of hands-on Java software development experience through professional employment or relevant projects
- Working knowledge of core Java, object-oriented programming, and development of maintainable code
- Experience with RESTful APIs and backend services using structured payloads such as JSON
- Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL for data retrieval and validation
- Familiarity with Git or comparable source control and Java build tools
