Junior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting senior engineers in a contract role, the proactive Junior Mechanical Engineer will assist with 3D CAD modeling, design verification, prototyping, and technical documentation for complex mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and update 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings using tools like SolidWorks, Creo, or NX
• Perform basic structural, thermal, and tolerance stack-up calculations to validate design ideas
• Support hands-on assembly, physical testing, and root-cause troubleshooting for engineering prototypes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a related discipline from an accredited university
• 0-2 years of professional, co-op, or internship experience in mechanical design
• Hands-on experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, PTC Creo, Siemens NX, or CATIA)
• Solid understanding of core principles (statics, dynamics, materials science, thermodynamics)
• Basic familiarity with GD&T standards (ANSI/ASME)
