Junior Network Engineer

Job Summary

To support internal teams and a Federal Agency, the contract Junior Network Engineer will provide remote assistance in managing and troubleshooting data networks and security solutions, with a focus on routing protocols and firewall configurations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support for data networks and security solutions, managing troubleshooting and monitoring tasks
• Configure and maintain Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco product lines, ensuring optimal network performance
• Respond to escalated incidents and service requests, collaborating with project teams and managers effectively

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 3 or more years of experience in data networks, specifically with routing protocols and switching technologies
• Familiarity with tools such as SolarWinds, ServiceNow, and Cisco platforms
• Basic understanding of firewall rule configuration
• Professional certifications such as CCENT, CCNA, or CCNP preferred
