Junior Network Engineer

Job Summary

To support a Federal Agency, the contract-based Junior Network Engineer will provide remote assistance in managing and troubleshooting data networks and security solutions, focusing on routing protocols and firewall configurations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support to internal teams and Federal Agency on data networks and security solutions
• Manage and maintain data network systems using Cisco product lines and monitor network performance with SolarWinds
• Implement and troubleshoot enterprise network-related solutions, incidents, and system outages

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 3 or more years of experience in data networks, emphasizing routing protocols and switching technologies
• Experience with Cisco platforms, Palo Alto firewalls, and monitoring tools like SolarWinds
• Basic understanding of configuring firewall rules
• Professional certifications such as CCENT, CCNA, or CCNP preferred
