Job Summary

To support advanced nuclear fuel technology initiatives, the remote Junior Nuclear Materials Engineer will provide technical input on testing projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and develop material response models while ensuring compliance with quality assurance requirements.

Key responsibilities
  • Support testing and development activities focused on Lightbridge cladding materials and performance
  • Plan, evaluate, and interpret testing related to cladding hydride effects and mechanical properties
  • Prepare and present technical findings to internal teams, commercial partners, and regulators
Required qualifications
  • B.S. in an engineering or science discipline with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or M.S. with 4 years, or Ph.D. with 2 years
  • Proficiency in nuclear engineering and material science engineering concepts
  • Demonstrable experience in writing and presenting engineering work and research findings
  • Strong working knowledge of radiation material science, particularly regarding metals
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a remote/hybrid environment
