Junior Software Developer

Job Summary

Joining a small, fast-moving engineering team, the Junior Software Developer will work remotely on a flexible basis to build and ship features for a consumer-facing web application while collaborating with senior engineers in a structured codebase.

Key responsibilities

• Build features by picking up tickets, implementing them, and shipping clean code
• Fix bugs by investigating issues and resolving them through the stack
• Write tests to maintain and extend test coverage as development progresses

Required qualifications

• Solid fundamentals in a modern frontend framework (React, Vue, Angular) and a backend language (Python, Ruby, Node)
• Ability to read and navigate an existing codebase without needing line-by-line explanations
• Understanding of version control (Git), REST APIs, and relational databases
• Self-directed learner who seeks solutions independently and asks questions when necessary
• Strong asynchronous communication skills, with clear PR descriptions and timely identification of blockers
