Junior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Joining a fast-moving engineering team, the Junior Software Engineer will work remotely on a flexible basis to build and enhance a consumer-facing web application, contributing by implementing features, fixing bugs, and participating in code reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Build features by picking up tickets, implementing them, and shipping clean code
• Fix bugs by investigating issues and tracing them through the stack
• Participate in code reviews to learn from peers and improve coding skills

Required qualifications

• Solid fundamentals in a modern frontend framework (React, Vue, Angular) and a backend language (Python, Ruby, Node)
• Ability to read and navigate an existing codebase without needing everything explained line by line
• Understanding of version control (Git), REST APIs, and relational databases
• Self-directed learner who seeks information independently before asking for help
• Strong async communication skills, including clear PR descriptions and early flagging of blockers
