Junior Underwriter

Job Summary

Motivated and detail-oriented, the full-time Junior Underwriter will support the underwriting process by evaluating risk, reviewing applications, and assisting in the development of coverage recommendations while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a dedicated book of renewal business by conducting comprehensive underwriting reviews and analyzing applications and risk indicators
• Evaluate risks against established thresholds to make sound renewal decisions and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
• Prepare thorough referral packages for accounts exceeding authority limits to facilitate informed decision-making

Required qualifications

• An associate's degree from an accredited college, technical school, or equivalent experience
• At least one year of relevant professional experience is preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn underwriting systems
• A strong desire to stay current with industry trends and best practices
