K-6 Reading Tutor

Job Summary

To support children's literacy development, the part-time K-6 Reading Tutor will work remotely with students through a secure online platform, providing 1:1 tutoring sessions focused on reading comprehension and engagement, with no lesson planning required.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct 25-minute 1:1 tutoring sessions with K-6 students using a provided curriculum
• Build and maintain trusting relationships with students over multiple sessions to enhance their reading skills
• Collaborate with the learning specialist team for ongoing support and coaching

Required qualifications

• Current or expired K-6 teaching certification
• K-6 classroom teaching experience with a focus on reading
• Strong knowledge of the Science of Reading, including phonics and comprehension instruction
• Availability for at least 10 hours per week, with a minimum of 3 hours during peak hours Monday-Thursday
• Reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a quiet workspace
