Kafka Platform Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the full-time Kafka Platform Engineer will architect, deploy, and operate large-scale Apache Kafka and Confluent platform environments remotely, ensuring reliable event-driven workloads and collaborating with cross-functional partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and operate large-scale Apache Kafka or Confluent Platform clusters across on-prem and cloud environments
• Implement strong security measures on Kafka clusters and operate associated tools like Schema Registry and Kafka Connect in production
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing, while maintaining comprehensive technical documentation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Five or more years of experience operating Apache Kafka or Confluent Platform in production
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of Kafka internals and strong experience with Kafka security
• Hands-on experience with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and either Kafka Streams or ksqlDB
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go
