Kafka Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Experienced in large-scale event-driven systems, the full-time Kafka Platform Engineer will architect, deploy, and operate Apache Kafka and Confluent platform environments remotely, ensuring high availability and security while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and manage large-scale Apache Kafka clusters, focusing on deployment, security, and operational efficiency
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and observability tools to optimize Kafka performance and reliability
• Mentor junior engineers and lead incident response efforts to enhance team capabilities and system resilience

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Five or more years of experience operating Apache Kafka or Confluent Platform in production
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of Kafka internals and security mechanisms
• Experience with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and HA/DR strategies
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go, along with infrastructure-as-code experience
