Kafka Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Joining a dynamic team, the full-time Kafka Platform Engineer will architect, deploy, and operate large-scale Apache Kafka and Confluent platform environments remotely, ensuring reliable and performant event-driven workloads while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and operate large-scale Apache Kafka or Confluent Platform clusters across on-prem and cloud environments
• Implement strong security on Kafka clusters and design HA/DR strategies for Kafka
• Mentor and coach junior engineers through code review, design review, and structured knowledge sharing

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Five or more years of experience operating Apache Kafka or Confluent Platform in production
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of Kafka internals and security mechanisms
• Hands-on experience with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and Kafka Streams or ksqlDB
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go
