Kafka Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Experienced in Apache Kafka, the full-time Kafka Platform Engineer will architect, deploy, and operate large-scale Kafka environments remotely, ensuring security, automation, and observability while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and operate large-scale Apache Kafka or Confluent Platform clusters across on-prem and cloud environments
• Implement strong security on Kafka clusters and build CI/CD pipelines for configurations using GitOps patterns
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews for streaming workloads, ensuring durable outcomes and documentation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Five or more years of experience operating Apache Kafka or Confluent Platform in production
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of Kafka internals and strong experience with Kafka security
• Hands-on experience with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and either Kafka Streams or ksqlDB
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go
