Job Summary
Serving as a fractional security leader, the full-time Kansas Licensed Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) will manage security programs for GovCon clients, develop multi-year security roadmaps, and ensure compliance with federal regulations, while primarily working remotely with occasional on-site client visits.
Key responsibilities
- Lead security program direction and risk management for a portfolio of GovCon clients
- Conduct risk assessments and maintain ongoing compliance assurance across client programs
- Advise on security architecture and tooling, ensuring alignment with client business objectives
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security consulting, or IT compliance
- Hands-on experience with CMMC Level 2 and NIST 800-171 readiness engagements
- Strong knowledge of security controls, identity management, and cloud security (Microsoft 365/Azure)
- Experience navigating federal regulatory requirements related to GovCon clients
- Ability to translate technical risks into business-level guidance for executives
