Kansas Licensed Nurse Consultant
Job Summary
To support the precertification process, the full-time Kansas Licensed Nurse Consultant will be responsible for researching, reviewing, and processing medical necessity and eligibility for inpatient and outpatient services, while working remotely, hybrid, or onsite.
Key responsibilities
- Independently conduct reviews for medical necessity and determine when to involve medical consultant expertise
- Research and analyze complex service requests, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations
- Orient new employees on precertification activities within the department
Required qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical nursing role required
- Current, active, unrestricted Kansas RN License required
- Previous experience in Precertification/Utilization Management preferred
- Acute medical/surgical experience preferred
