Job Summary

A school district is seeking a Kansas Licensed Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the 23/24 school year.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver virtual lessons and support services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Utilize technology and specialized teaching methods to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Provide individualized instruction, accommodations, and support to students based on their needs
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Valid teaching certification/license in Deaf Education or Special Education for deaf and hard of hearing students
  • Experience teaching deaf or hard of hearing students, preferably in a virtual or online setting
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with other communication modalities
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and software used in virtual education for deaf and hard of hearing students
