Kansas Licensed Underwriting Supervisor

Job Summary

Overseeing the eligibility, enrollment, and risk evaluation processes, the full-time Kansas Licensed Underwriting Supervisor will manage daily operations, ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, and lead a team of Underwriting staff, with the flexibility to work remotely, hybrid, or onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the Enrollment Risk area, ensuring accurate risk evaluation and underwriting decisions
• Review and approve risk evaluations, ensuring proper documentation and decision-making on underwriting assessments
• Provide training and ongoing education to Underwriting staff and collaborate with internal departments to enhance underwriting efficiency

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in underwriting or related fields in the health insurance industry
• Prior leadership, supervisory, and training experience preferred
• Knowledge of federal and state underwriting regulations, including HIPAA and ACA
• LPN, Certified Nurses Aid, or experience coding medical records preferred
