Kansas Medicaid Eligibility Specialist

Job Summary

To support the KanCare Clearinghouse Program, the full-time remote Kansas Medicaid Eligibility Specialist will analyze applications, determine eligibility for medical assistance, and manage documentation entry in various systems while residing in Kansas.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze initial applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility for federal and state medical assistance
• Enter household information and authorize eligibility within the Kansas Economic and Enforcement System (KEES), documenting decisions in the electronic case journal
• Communicate with consumers regarding eligibility issues and make outbound calls to verify or obtain missing information as needed

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent; post-secondary education preferred
• Minimum of two years' experience in determining eligibility for Long-Term Care, Elderly and Disabled, or Family Medical programs
• Strong computer skills with experience in complex software systems and excellent data entry skills
• Knowledge of Medicaid and managed care programs
• Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to speak and read both languages fluently
