Job Summary
To ensure seamless patient experiences and efficient clinic operations, the full-time Kentucky Certified Medical Assistant will manage phone customer service, handle patient information, and support various administrative tasks while working remotely with occasional onsite training or meetings.
Key responsibilities
- Manage high volumes of incoming calls, scheduling and canceling appointments for multiple providers while adhering to department guidelines
- Process patient information, including demographics, insurance verification, referrals, and authorizations, while maintaining confidentiality
- Communicate complex exam preparation instructions to patients and coordinate with ordering physicians' offices
Required qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED with experience in computer systems, including web-based applications
- Minimum of two years' experience in a patient-focused healthcare environment or high-volume contact center
- Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program or equivalent military training
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA, AMCA, NHA, NCCT, or equivalent) is required
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification upon hire
