Job Summary
A company is looking for a Coder I - Pathology.
Key Responsibilities
- Abstracts information from service documentation and assigns appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCs codes
- Reviews and resolves coding denials and completes charge sessions in assigned work queues
- Maintains compliance with coding regulations and provides feedback on coding deficiencies
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent (required)
- One to four (1-4) years of physician coding experience (preferred)
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) accredited by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) (required)
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist Physician Based (CCS-P), or Certified Coding Assistant (CCA) accredited by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) (required)
