Job Summary

A company is looking for a HIM CDI Specialist, Ambulatory Care Building, Remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate inpatient medical records to identify documentation opportunities and ensure accurate MS-DRG assignment
• Collaborate with physicians to clarify documentation inconsistencies and educate on disease process identification
• Analyze documentation findings to develop action plans for process improvements and collaborate with various healthcare staff to resolve queries

Required Qualifications

• Current licensure as a RN, RHIA, RHIT, or active CCS (AHIMA) or CPC-H (AAPC) coding credential
• 3+ years of acute care experience as a RN or inpatient coding experience as a RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC-H
• Advanced clinical expertise and extensive knowledge of complex disease processes
• Certification as a Clinical Documentation Specialist or Clinical Documentation Improvement Professional (CCDS or CDIP) required within 12 months of employment
