Job Summary
To support seamless patient experiences, the part-time Kentucky Licensed Medical Assistant will manage phone customer service, handle patient information, and process referrals and authorizations while working remotely with occasional on-site training or meetings.
Key responsibilities
- Manage high volumes of incoming calls, scheduling and canceling appointments for multiple providers
- Communicate complex exam preparation instructions to patients and healthcare providers
- Document results and medication requests in the Electronic Health Records system according to established protocols
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED with experience in computer systems and web-based applications
- Minimum of two years of experience in a patient-focused healthcare environment or high-volume contact center
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program or equivalent military training
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA, AMCA, NHA, NCCT, or equivalent) upon hire
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification upon hire
