Job Summary
To support a growing healthcare team, a full-time Kentucky Licensed Medical Coder will assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes, ensuring compliance with clinical documentation and coding guidelines while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes for outpatient hospital professional accounts
- Monitor work queues to ensure timely coding and charging of records
- Generate coding queries for clarification regarding physician documentation as needed
Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Professional coder certification from AHIMA and/or AAPC (CPC-A, RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS)
- 2+ years of experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding
- 2+ years of experience with multi-specialty surgical coding
- 2+ years of experience with PCs in a Windows environment, including MS Excel and EMR systems
