Kentucky Licensed Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary

Providing specialty pharmacy services, the full-time Kentucky Licensed Pharmacy Technician will obtain prior authorizations, enroll patients in financial support programs, and coordinate medication dispenses remotely as part of the Primary Care Team.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain prior authorizations and enroll patients in financial support programs for specialty medications
• Coordinate first-time dispenses and refills for specialty medications prescribed within UK HealthCare
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and pharmacy staff to enhance access to medications for various subspecialty disease states

Required qualifications

• Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT)
• Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of related experience in a pharmacy setting
• Ability to perform tasks with repetitive motions and occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
