K'iche' Interpreter

Job Summary

To support language access initiatives, the remote K'iche' Interpreter will operate as a freelance independent contractor, providing interpretation services primarily in medical, legal, and educational settings while managing their own schedule and accepting appointments based on availability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate interpretation services in K'iche' and English across various settings
• Manage appointment availability and accept assignments based on personal schedule
• Demonstrate professionalism and adaptability while working independently or as part of a team

Required qualifications

• Fluency in English and K'iche' with a strong understanding of cultural nuances
• Previous interpreting experience, preferably in medical, legal, or educational contexts
• High School Diploma or equivalent; or certification in interpreting or related fields
• Must be located in and authorized to work in the US
• Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and flexibility in various work environments
