Kong API Gateway Engineer

Job Summary

Providing product-specific surge support, the full-time salaried Kong API Gateway Engineer will manage gateway configuration, API migration, and CI/CD integration in a primarily remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for gateway configuration, plugins/policies, routing, and developer portal configuration within Government-approved boundaries
• Assist in accelerated API migration wave preparation, test execution, and defect resolution when authorized by the Government
• Support CI/CD integration, governance validation, and observability for the approved gateway product, along with knowledge transfer and documentation

Required Qualifications

• Deep product-specific experience with Kong Enterprise, Kong Konnect, or a comparable API gateway platform
• Experience in API migration support, including wave preparation and dual-run troubleshooting
• Knowledge of CI/CD integration with Government-owned DevSecOps platforms
• Ability to provide knowledge transfer and technical documentation in a federal delivery context
• Active or ability to obtain IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI)
