Job Summary

Seeking a Kong API Gateway Specialist to work remotely, who will design, implement, and maintain Kong solutions for modernizing and securing enterprise APIs in federal government tax systems while ensuring compliance with federal standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain Kong API Gateway for enterprise services
• Implement plugins for authentication, authorization, and performance optimization
• Develop automation for Kong configurations and support DevOps pipelines for API deployment

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years in API management, with 2+ years in Kong Gateway administration
• Experience in federal environments such as IRS or Treasury preferred
• Hands-on expertise with Kong Enterprise and decK
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Lua, or Shell
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
