Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Principal Kubernetes Control Plane Engineer to architect and build scalable, automated systems for managing thousands of Kubernetes control planes, ensuring high availability and seamless upgrades, with the flexibility to work remotely from San Jose, CA, or Austin, TX.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable control plane architectures using tools like Cluster API for fleet-wide automation
- Develop custom Kubernetes Operators and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) to enhance lifecycle management
- Architect solutions for zero-downtime upgrades and multi-cluster federation to optimize user experience
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong expertise in Go
- Extensive experience with the Kubernetes ecosystem, including Operators and API Server
- Proven experience operating and scaling large-scale distributed systems in production
- Deep understanding of multi-tenancy models and API governance in cloud-native environments
