Kubernetes Subject Matter Expert
Job Summary
Serving as the ultimate escalation point for complex Kubernetes challenges, the contract Kubernetes Subject Matter Expert will work remotely to accelerate deployment, audit existing architectures, and develop advanced Infrastructure as Code solutions while collaborating with internal engineering teams.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical authority for Kubernetes architectural and scaling challenges
- Audit cluster architectures and recommend improvements for high availability and security
- Develop Infrastructure as Code modules and automation scripts to resolve platform bottlenecks
Required qualifications
- Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, networking, and security
- Proven experience implementing scaling and optimization tools like Karpenter or ScaleOps
- Deep proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or OpenTofu
- Experience in writing custom automation tooling
- Strong understanding of container-level FinOps and cloud cost-avoidance methodologies
