Labor Relations Consultant

Job Summary

Providing expert guidance on labor relations policies, the full-time salaried Labor Relations Consultant will manage complex labor relations matters, including grievance investigations, compliance with collective bargaining agreements, and support for legal counsel, while working onsite in Palo Alto, CA.

Key responsibilities

• Consults with management and HR teams on labor relations issues, including performance management and employee discipline
• Investigates and resolves grievances, ensuring compliance with labor agreements and state and federal laws
• Represents the organization in labor management meetings, contract negotiations, and arbitration processes

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Juris Doctorate (JD) preferred
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in labor relations or a related field
• Thorough knowledge of state and federal labor and employment laws
• Experience with collective bargaining and employee relations in a healthcare setting preferred
• Ability to conduct investigations and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
