Laboratory Prep Technician

Job Summary

To support laboratory operations, the full-time Laboratory Prep Technician will perform specimen preparation, accessioning, and basic processing tasks on-site in Springfield, Massachusetts during the 3rd shift.

Key responsibilities:

• Verifies specimen identity and appropriateness, accurately entering orders into the Laboratory Information System
• Processes various specimen types while ensuring proper preservation and handling according to departmental protocols
• Prepares basic laboratory reagents and may perform staining techniques as needed

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 0-12 months of experience, preferably in a laboratory environment
• Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and safety protocols
• Good computer skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume setting
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
