Job Summary
Seeking a strategic and dynamic Lead Advocacy Officer, this full-time remote position will manage federal policy, government relations, and community mobilization teams to drive an integrated advocacy agenda that supports the well-being of infants and toddlers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of advocacy plans in collaboration with internal teams and external partners
- Represent ZERO TO THREE in coalitions and provide technical assistance to federal policymakers while drafting advocacy materials
- Supervise and mentor a team of policy advocates, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and effective performance management
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant advocacy and policy experience, including Capitol Hill or government relations roles
- At least 8 years of supervisory experience leading cross-functional teams
- Advanced knowledge of federal legislative and regulatory processes, including budget and appropriations
- Strong understanding of early childhood policy issues such as health, mental health, and family support
- Law degree or master's degree in public policy, social work, political science, or a related field
