Lead AI Engineer

Job Summary

To drive the AI engineering function, the full-time Lead AI Engineer will build and manage agentic AI systems, lead a team of AI Engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional partners in a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs and builds agentic AI systems including LLM orchestration and RAG pipelines
• Leads and mentors AI Engineers, conducting performance reviews and identifying career development opportunities
• Establishes engineering practices and technical processes for AI systems while partnering with ML and Prompt Engineers

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, AI/ML, or a related field, or 2-4 years of equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in AI/ML systems and 2+ years in a management role
• Knowledge of LLM architectures, RAG systems, and production AI/ML system design
• Proficiency in Python and AI/ML development, as well as LLM API integration
• Ability to balance hands-on building with team leadership and drive technical decisions across teams
