Lead API Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior API Engineer for a remote position focused on leading API platform engineering for a federal government project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Kong API Gateway engineering and administration
• Design and maintain custom Kong plugins and API standards
• Build and operate cloud-native infrastructure using Kubernetes and AWS

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience in API engineering or related roles
• Hands-on experience with Kong Gateway administration in production environments
• Experience with Kubernetes for deploying containerized applications
• Proficiency in DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and automation
