Lead Azure Engineer

Job Summary

Driving large-scale cloud infrastructure initiatives, the remote Lead Azure Engineer will serve as a senior technical leader, modernizing and stabilizing an enterprise Azure platform to support corporate IT and physical operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the design and overhaul of an enterprise Azure environment, enhancing standardization, scalability, and reliability
• Own Azure networking and connectivity, including VNets, subnets, routing, VPNs, DNS, firewalls, and private connectivity
• Establish and refine Azure governance, including policies, standards, and security controls across subscriptions and workloads

Required qualifications:

• Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering experience supporting enterprise-scale environments
• Deep expertise in Azure networking and hybrid connectivity (VNets, subnets, routing, VPN, DNS, firewalls)
• Demonstrated experience designing and overhauling Azure environments, including governance and Azure Policies
• Experience supporting hybrid Azure/on-prem infrastructure (Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, VMware)
• Proven ability to lead technically while remaining hands-on, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues
