Lead Backend Developer

Job Summary

Leading the design and delivery of critical product components, the full-time remote Lead Backend Developer will create scalable backend services and APIs, drive system design decisions, and mentor engineers while ensuring high technical quality and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Own delivery for significant features or systems, from requirement clarification to execution and iteration
• Design and build scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that support core product functionality
• Lead structured experimentation and define success metrics, testing strategies, and observability for your area

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of overall experience in software engineering, with 3+ years in building and shipping production systems
• Hands-on coding experience in Python and/or TypeScript, with a focus on APIs, services, and data pipelines
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD practices
• Proven ability to design and scale distributed systems in production environments
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
