Lead Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of scalable AWS/Node.js/React applications, the remote Lead Backend Engineer will lead architecture and technical direction, design end-to-end solutions, and mentor engineering teams in a contract-to-hire role.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and technical direction for integrating GenAI/LLM capabilities into cloud platforms
• Design and build secure, production-ready solutions using Node.js, React, and AWS services
• Drive engineering best practices, including code quality, CI/CD, and operational excellence

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Node.js and TypeScript development
• Strong expertise in AWS services, including Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3
• Proficiency in React and JavaScript for building user interfaces
• Experience with event-driven and serverless architectures
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in mentoring engineering teams
