Job Summary
To support the Civil Rights Compliance Office, the full-time Lead Civil Rights Investigator will independently investigate complex complaints of discrimination and harassment, serve as a resource for other investigators, and ensure equitable treatment throughout the investigation process while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Independently investigate complaints of discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct, ensuring prompt and impartial processes
- Consult with internal and external partners, assist with administrative tasks, and provide informal supervision to other civil rights investigators
- Create comprehensive written investigative reports and maintain accurate investigatory files while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and university policies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and six years of professional experience in investigations or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in student conduct, human resources, law enforcement, or discrimination and harassment offices
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage sensitive information
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a university-wide community
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and electronic databases
