Lead Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Lead Coding Specialist who will monitor and ensure the accuracy of medical record coding and provide guidance to a team of coders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits to assess the accuracy of medical record coding and maintain audit records
• Provide coding information and advice to coders, serving as a resource within the department
• Code diagnoses and procedures in accordance with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 3 years of outpatient coding experience, with at least 1 year in the relevant specialty
• Certification as a CPC, COC, CRC, or CCS is required
• Additional specialty certifications from AAPC or AHIMA may be considered
