Lead Data Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the reliability and operational excellence of the data platform, the full-time Lead Data Engineer will build, maintain, and operate data pipelines using Snowflake, Airflow, AWS, Python, and SQL, while also leading technical initiatives and optimizing costs in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines and curated data products across Snowflake, Airflow, AWS, Python, and SQL
• Optimize Snowflake architecture at scale, implementing clustering, materialized views, and resource monitors
• Lead incident responses and postmortems, ensuring system improvements and adherence to SLAs for data platforms

Required qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience with Snowflake, Airflow, AWS, Python, and SQL in production environments
• Proven ability to lead incident response and drive postmortems that result in real system improvements
• Solid data architecture and system design skills, including disaster recovery and high availability
• Experience implementing observability and data quality controls across complex data systems
• 8+ years of data engineering experience, with several years owning critical platforms or services
