Lead Data Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the design and implementation of cloud-native data platforms, the full-time Lead Data Engineer will architect large-scale systems on Google Cloud, develop unified data pipelines, and mentor engineering teams in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Architect and optimize large-scale data platforms on Google Cloud, utilizing BigQuery for analytics
• Design and build unified batch and streaming pipelines to manage high-volume workloads
• Establish automated data quality and governance practices across the data estate

Required qualifications:

• 7+ years in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role on Google Cloud platforms
• Advanced knowledge of BigQuery architecture and optimization techniques
• Strong experience in building data pipelines using Dataflow, Dataproc, and Pub/Sub
• Production experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Familiarity with Apache Iceberg for enabling data interoperability
