Lead Data Engineer
Job Summary
As a remote Lead Data Engineer, the successful candidate will design and build scalable data pipelines, manage data architecture discussions, and contribute to client projects while fostering team collaboration and mentoring.
Key responsibilities
- Designing and building data pipelines and schemas to accommodate growing data volume and complexity
- Leading data architecture discussions, weighing tradeoffs, and documenting decisions
- Contributing to team health and culture by mentoring, leading workshops, and engaging with the tech community
Required qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on building scalable data solutions
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud data platform (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery)
- Proficiency in SQL, including query optimization and debugging
- Experience with Python or similar languages for automating data workflows
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT principles and data modeling in real client projects
